Shift conference 2014 June 02-06

Today we’ve announced the winners of Shift Hackathon, a 24-hour code sprint sponsored by International Medical Corps. Twelve teams hacked for 24 hours in a row in order to develop an app that could help International Medical Corps save lives all over the world. The contestants had the task of developing an application that will be used to gather data on incidents that require urgent medical interventions, such as those including violence or natural catastrophes.

The competition was harsh but after a long cosideration the jury consisting of Nadezda Sekularac (International Medical Corps), Timothy McAtee (International Medical Corps), Tomislav Tipuric (Microsoft), Simon Eichenauer (Mailjet) and Stan Schroeder (Mashable) managed to select three teams that were slightly better than the others.

Team SDK won the first place and $ 5,000, Raptors were the second best and they will be awarded with $ 3,000 while IEP won the third place along with $ 2,000. The winners were also awarded by Mailjet and IEP even received a special award for creativity.

All three top teams will receive their awards on June 6, during the official awards ceremony at Shift Conference. This means they will also be treated with an opportunity to present their projects in front of more than 1000 conference attendees, all the key people from the startup world and the representatives of prestigious publications from the world of business & technology - such as Entrepreneur, Mashable and The Next Web!
